Workshop
Based in Al Quoz trading estate in Dubai GulfSport has a 10,000 square foot race workshop facility. This is where all preparation and maintenance of the race cars takes place. Whether its doing a standard pre race prep, building an engine from the crank case up or setting up a formula car on the flat patch all race car related work is undertaken. Between the staff in the work shop there is experience from the commercial car industry to Formula 3 and on to Formula 1.
GulfSport prepare, insure and store its customers cars at its race engineering workshop in Al Quoz under the direction of Workshop Manager Gary Francis. Gary’s team of experienced race mechanics are also responsible for running these cars at all test and race events.
Apart from standard race preparation services, GulfSport are also expert at flat patch setup work, corner weighting, plus engine and gearbox rebuilding. They are also familiar with a variety of ECUs, GCUs, paddle shift systems, data loggers and sensors. They also fit race equipment sold by the retail side of the business.
The workshop does not aim to undertake servicing work on road cars but is specialised in the care of track, rally and race cars. Experience includes Radical, Caterham, KTM X-Bow, BMW, Ginetta, Maserati, Mitsubishi Evo, Porsche, VW Golf GTi, various single seaters and the Caparo T1.
The facility has 7 dedicated work bays, car setup bay, fabrication, engine/gearbox assembly and car storage.
